Laurice Baladi Nicola

A mother, grandmother, aunt, mentor and friend for over sixty years of life

July, 1993 at age 77 working at Ecole Québec Musique loved by students and teachers

Like a beacon of light

Across a century of life

Charged with character and love

Shining on five generations
Celebrating her 95h birthday in 2011

A legend

A great grand daughter of a saint

Saint Joseph of Antioch and Damascus (1869)

A Royal Air Force Veteran

A 1946 United Nations Refugees and Rehabilitation contributor

A twenty-five years UN officer

A tender mother, wife and survivor of life’s absurdities

A fun, earnest, strong, hopeful and family woman

A child of God

An end of an era

So hard to describe

Montreal, 1996 at age 80, always a life lover

Mom has entered immortality

Today, January 13, 2014 at 09.27 AM (Montreal time)

Pray for her departure to be gentle

And her voyage to be safe

Until in the hands of her Creator she lands

With all those she befriended

Whose lives God chose

Go in peace mama

Until we hug each other again (Listen to some of her favourite songs, below)

Rafik (for all of us)

  1. A truly beautiful memorial Rafik. Tante Laurice was the first and last of her kind in so many ways. She has touched my life tremendously and for so many years has been one of the strongest connections to the Grandmother I didn't get to know, her sister, Alice. Tante Laurice was warm, loving, courageous and kind. She was proud to have raised such a beautiful family, and was blessed to have them close to her throughout her life. She will never be forgotten.
We pass along our deepest sympathies to you at this time, and wish you peace and joy through from the warm memories of your beloved Mother.
